YOUNG children can have a constructive visit to the library with new weekly Lego sessions starting next month.

Under-fives can learn new skills at special weekly free Lego/Duplo sessions during the whole of March at Ilkley Library.

These sessions will include singing and free play, along with a guided challenge activity, which will see children building an animal or vehicle with their parents or carers.

Keith Moran from Bricks4Kidz – an educational play programme using Lego – will lead the sessions during a four-week period.

Lego and building-themed books will be on display at the sessions and available to borrow on the day. And children who borrow a book and attend the session will get double stamps on their Bookstart Bear Club passport. The Bookstart-backed scheme gives children incentives and certificates to encourage an interest in books and stories.

The Ilkley Library sessions will run on Tuesdays from 10.30am to 11.30am on March 8, 15, 22 and 29. Booking is essential by calling 01943 436225.
