ILKLEY Grammar School, students and staff joined forces this week to raise money for two local charities.
The school held its first Community Charity Day, raising money for Yorkshire Flood Relief and SEN Ethiopia, an Ilkley-based charity working in blind schools in Ethiopia.
Post-16 students collected loose change in buckets and staff pitted themselves against each other in a hockey match.
The school raised £525.35 in total, which will be divided between the two charities.
Assistant headteacher, Chris Washington, was thrilled with the amount raised and the effort put in by staff and students.
He said: "Being able to donate to two charities is fantastic, especially two that have such a strong local connection."
