A MUSICAL Evening at Bolton Abbey Priory Church has raised £2,100 for a local school.

The concert featured soprano Alexandra Lowe and was held in the presence of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire.

The VIP ticket holders enjoyed a champagne and canapés reception in glorious sunshine at Bolton Hall before walking across to the Priory for the concert. An audience of 190 watched outstanding performances from Alexandra, who recently won the Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation Sarah Brightman Scholarship, baritone Tom Isherwood, mezzo soprano Hollie-Ann Bangham, violinist Joy Becker and pianist Simon Passmore.

Concert organiser Carol Dawson said she was thrilled that £2,100 had been raised for the Beamsley Boyle and Petyt School Foundation.

"I would like to thank everyone who supported the evening," she added.
