A FORMER station ticket office in Ilkley has been transformed into an indoor climbing centre and cafe.

Clip'nClimb Ilkley is opening within Station Plaza next to the Marks & Spencer's Simply Food store, on Saturday for a VIP weekend, with bookings being released on Facebook.

Clip'nClimb uses colourful panels that enable climbers to challenge themselves on 21 different climbs from the easy Big Cheese to the hard Spaghetti. This is a new idea to the region and offers healthy fun with challenging opportunities in a safe environment for ages four to 104.

Each climber wears a special harness and is clipped to an automatic belay which brings the climber down slowly after completing the wall. Trained staff ensure safe procedures are kept at all times.

The experience takes just over one hour 20 minutes, including the initial safety briefing. Opening hours during the summer will be 9am to10pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 7pm on a Sunday.

Go to Clip 'N Climb Ilkley on Facebook to see what sessions are available for the opening weekend. The VIP weekend will be cash only with costs at 4-6 years £9, 7-16 years £12.50 and 16 plus years £15.
