VISITORS to Wharfedale beauty spots are being reminded to keep their cars safe by local Rotarians.

The Rotary Club of Otley Chevin has resumed its car crime awareness-raising campaign following a series of break-ins* to vehicles parked at places like Otley Chevin and Golden Acre Park.

Club members were out at Golden Acre, in Bramhope, on Wednesday, June 24 to hand out their advice cards (pictured above) to motorists.

The cards, sponsored by the Wharfedale & Aireborough Observer, were produced in 2013 in an initiative that was backed by the police.

Their reverse side, which is intended to be displayed inside visitors' cars, states that "all valuables have been removed from this vehicle".

*The Outer North West Neighbourhood Policing Team flagged up the problem in April, and urged people not to leave any valuables in their car - including in the boot.
