OVER 100 swimmers took a dip in Ilkley Lido on Sunday to celebrate the Summer Solstice Swim.
Now in its third year, the annual tradition, established by Friends of Ilkley Lido, saw busy crowds of enthusiastic bathers taking the plunge at 4.45am. Coffee and snacks were on hand from the Appletree van to warm visitors after their brisk dip.
Friends of Ilkley Lido chairman Davy Simpson said: "I'm really pleased how enthusiastically people have supported this yet again.
"Swimmers have travelled from all over to make it, including quite a few who hadn't gone to bed! The Lido staff have really gone above and beyond their day jobs to help make this the success that it is."
