YEADON Library is to get a major revamp that will see it incorporate Rawdon’s One Stop Centre.

Leeds City Council has announced that the Town Hall Square building will close at the end of business on Thursday.

From April 2 to June 15 a library service will operate from the Methodist Church, next to the Town Hall. Stock will be rotated to ensure there is a varied choice of books.

The town’s three ward councillors have all welcomed the news.

Councillor Colin Campbell (Lib Dem, Otley & Yeadon) said: ““I am pleased to say the refurbishment has been agreed and will provide improved services including computer acces.

“The big change, however, is that the One Stop Shop housing advice centre will be moving to Yeadon.”
