THE search is on to find 100 Yorkshire ballet dancers to join the English Youth Ballet in their ghostly, full-length production of Giselle at St George’s Hall in Bradford, from June 5 to 6.

English Youth Ballet will be holding auditions at St George’s Hall on Friday, March 13 and is keen to offer opportunities to male and female dancers (aged eight to18) and of all levels of experience. The successful youngsters will be offered the chance to rehearse with and dance alongside international professional principal dancers. The EYB aims to give professional performance experience to young dancers in beautiful venues close to where they live.

Each audition will take the form of a regular ballet class. It is advisable to register for an audition in advance but it is possible to register on the day (arrive 30 minutes early to register). The audition fee is £15 and all dancers participate in a full ballet class on the stage. Parents are invited to watch in the auditorium.

Please note that there is a performance course fee for dancers who participate and scholarships are available (contact EYB or visit the website for more information). For more information and to register for the audition contact Miss Lewis either by telephone 01689 856747 or by email: misslewis@englishyouthballet.co.uk. Auditions are Friday, March 13: 4.30pm - 6.15pm Audition 1 (for dancers aged eight to 11) and 6.45pm - 8.30pm Audition 2 (for dancers aged 12 - 18).
