YOUNGSTERS were given a sweet treat when a large chocolate snowman was donated to the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund at Leeds General Infirmary.

The snowman was originally won by pub regular Alan Garforth in a Christmas and New Year Charity Draw at the White Cross Inn, Guiseley. The event raised £189 for Wheatfields Hospice.

Mr Garforth has now given the chocolate, originally donated by Walkers, to the Brave Hearts fund.

He said: “My good friends have a daughter who from birth had to have heart surgery, and spent a lot of months at the unit in Leeds.

“She is now three years of age and leading a normal life thanks to their care. The kids their will love to share the chocolate snowman I am sure.”

Pub landlord Greg Davies joined Alan to make the presentation.
