ILKLEY Grammar School students made the most of the opportunity to view the snowy scenes in the valley on Wednesday last week, as well as enjoying their wintery PE lesson.
Even though it was snowy under foot, the intrepid students set out orienteering on the moors, navigating their way through the snowy landscape.
Heavy snow was forecast to hit the Bradford district again this week with as much as 10cm predicted for parts of West Yorkshire. The Met Office issued an amber “be prepared” warning and predicted wintry conditions from 1pm on Wednesday. The forecast was then for snow to fall across the district until about 6pm today. The Met Office predicted icy stretches on roads that haven’t been gritted. Hilly areas were expected to see “significant snow accumulations”, according to the forecast.
