OTLEY Brass Band has raised hundreds for local charities by delighting shoppers with Christmas tunes.
The band has been playing festive favourites at supermarkets in Otley and Ilkley over the past week, inspiring spectators to both sing along and donate to charity.
A total of nearly £800 has been collected which will be shared between Otley Lions and Martin House Children’s Hospice.
Band manager Anne Ridgway said: “We are thrilled that we can support the community we live in through playing carols and raising money for the charities. We enjoyed two great sessions in the local area with impromptu singing and lots of positive comments, and more importantly the people of Otley and Ilkley dug deep to help those less fortunate than themselves during this festive season.”
