AN ART sale has raised £2700 for Cancer Research UK.
The sale of affordable paintings was held in Horsforth at the weekend, with more than 100 mature art students of the Howard Carlisle Water Colour Painting School taking part. The group’s recent successes include a portrait of the Queen – which has won praise from the monarch herself. The work, which was painted by all 150 members now hangs in the Horsforth Museum. The School also has a commission to create a painting of Olympic medallists the Brownlee brothers and David Stone.
