CARERS across Wharfedale are being invited to learn about their rights and the support available at an event to mark Carers Rights Day.

The Carers’ Resource, a charity which gives bespoke support to carers across Bradford district, is inviting people to find out about its various services and to question a panel of specialists.

Anyone looking after a relative, friend or neighbour is invited to the charity’s offices in Park View Court, St Paul’s Road, Shipley, tomorrow.

The first part, from 10.30am to 12.30pm, will be a drop-in where staff will be on hand to explain the new service which gives tailor-madesupport to carers, including emotional and practical support, advocacy, emergency planning and information.

There are also projects which help carers to access training, employment and educations, as well as helping carers find out about breaks, leisure and social activities.

A panel of carer specialists will be taking questions from carers between 1pm to 2pm in an informal atmosphere.

The event is a drop-in but if people would like to book a place at the question-and-answer session call the Carers’ Resource Shipley office on 01274 449660.
