GLUSBURN Institute will next month screen the seasonal classic White Christmas.

The evergreen movie follows two men who leave the army after the Second World War and become a song-and-dance act.

Meeting up with two beautiful sisters, who also have a song-and-dance act, they travel to a Vermont Lodge to perform a Christmas show.

There the boys find their former commander is the lodge owner, and a series of romantic mix-ups follow as the quartet try to help their friend.

White Christmas was released in 1954 and starred Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney, and Vera-Ellen.

Filmed in Technicolor, it was based on the 1942 film Holiday Inn, which featured the screen debut of the famous song White Christmas

The movie White Christmas features other songs by of Irving Berlin, including Sisters, Heat Wave, Blue Skies, and Count Your Blessings Instead Of Sheep.

White Christmas, certificate U, will be screened on December 5. Tickets cost £5 for adults and £3.50 concessions, and are available on the door.

Mulled wine and mince pies will be served at the bar from 6.30pm.
