MEMBERS of Rombalds Trefoil Guild spent a delightful evening teaching 2nd Addingham Brownies to knit as part of their Brownie Centenary Birthday Challenge.

Trefoil Guild member Ann Peacock said: "The Brownies were all very polite, interested and keen to learn. Everyone, including the leaders, tried hard, with mixed success, and it was a joy to be there and to chat with them, as well as to help everyone with their knitting.

"The aim is to complete sufficient squares to make a blanket to snuggle under at campfires - and that means a lot of squares!

"Since the Brownies started knitting some of their mothers have also, "had a go," and several Grandmas have been persuaded to help - willingly, of course!

"Our members always enjoy fulfilling the TG aim of supporting Girlguiding and look forward to more invitations from units in Wharfedale – we’re prepared to try most things. Some of us even had a go on the zip wire at the Guide Centenary celebrations."

Rombalds Trefoil Guild is one of the oldest Guilds in Yorkshire and would like to find more members. The group meets in The Clarke Foley Centre on the first Monday of the month unless a specific event is organised elsewhere.
