Otley Town1 Pool 2 (aet )

HOLDERS Pool were made to battle all the way for victory by their determined neighbours in a Wharfedale District FA Cup tie that went to extra time.

The first half was scrappy but Town were the better team. Pool had their chances, but failed to capitalise which could have cost them dearly as Town were awarded a penalty following James Carrol's mis-timed challenge which Scott Cater duly converted to take a lead into the second half.

Pool were creating opportunities which they failed to convert. Just when it looked like they were never going to score, a cross from the left was headed home by Nick Hewitt to level the scores.

With Town down to ten men after the sending off of striker Toby Harris and the match going into extra time, Pool were the favourites.

Town held on bravely until five minutes from time when Neil Ebdon's long-distance shot found the top corner to put Pool through to the next round.
