OTLEY’S Tina Kelly is about to set off for Uganda’s second city of Jinga for a period of volunteering with SALVE (Support and Love via Education.)
SALVE’s mission is to provide much needed help to Uganda’s many street children through a wide range of initiatives including, home tracing and family re-integration, enterprise programmes to combat poverty, educational support and the provision of a residential home.
Patrick McCauley, of Otley Lions, said: "When Tina approached the Lions for help, we were pleased to offer our support. The Otley Lions have furnished Tina with a set of flash drives, which Tina says will be invaluable for accurate record keeping and efficient communication in a country where the computer systems are rarely reliable."
