YOUNG gymnasts from Otley have demonstrated their skills in front of their families, friends and VIPs.

Otley Rhythmic Gymnastics Club held its annual display at Benton Park School, Rawdon, last weekend.

The four to six year old gymnasts were visited in the afternoon by Otley Town Mayor Councillor Nigel Gill (Lab, Manor), who chose the best routine. He then presented an award to the winning girls - Helena Addy, Grayce Fielding, Amelia Lee, Lily Lucas-Hooton, Lillie Sherlock-Boyes, Wejdan Qaisieh, Mabel Walker and Maya Wharton.

Then in the evening the second special guest of the day, MP Greg Mulholland (Lib Dem, Leeds North West), attended to present the club's special awards for the year.

The club's head coach, Karen Priestley, said: "We are very proud of all of our gymnasts, they all performed very well.

"The club display is our biggest fundraising event and we would like to thank everyone who supported us."

The special award winners were: Best Newcomer to Competitive Gymnastics - Linnéa Hoppé; Endeavour - Ruby Bradbourne; Cup for Dance - Bronte Staines; Most Improved - Emily Clay; Achievement - Sophie Edmondson; Club Girl - Eloise Savage; Volunteer of the Year - Rachel Savage; Assistant Coach of the Year - Sarah Goodwill; 10 Year Award - Zoe Hofman; Class Girls - Lillie Sherlock-Boyes, Emilia Blackie, Paula Zaice, Elle Hinton and Lydia Wilson; 100 Per Cent Attendance - Maia Parkin, Leah Hinton and Livia Mirfield.
