A development of 24 two, three and four bed homes are to be built as part of the redevelopment of the old Ilkley Middle School site in Ben Rhydding

The development, to be known as Stansfield Close, is being undertaken by Forster Homes and is already well underway and will be completed by January 2015.

The properties have a range of features, including balconies, garages and high quality kitchens supplied by the Moores Group of Wetherby. All homes come with off road parking as well as secure cycle storage.

The homes will be environmentally friendly and cheap to heat, making use of solar panels for electricity generation, high efficiency gas boilers and high levels of insulation.

Richard Burnham, who is overseeing the development, believes the houses, will be of exceptional quality and will be desirable to many families wishing to live in Ilkley and Ben Rhydding.

“The homes are built to a high specification and to Code 4 of the Code for Sustainable Homes.," he said. "They will be of a contemporary design, thermally efficient in a location highly accessible to local amenities and services.

“There have been high levels of interest in the development already which we expect to be completed early in 2015.”

The new houses are being sold by Wharfedale estate agents, Dale Eddison. In a market that is steadily improving, company director Bill Dale thinks now is a great time to buy.

“Stansfield Close provides an excellent opportunity to buy sensibly priced new two, three and four bedroomed houses in a sector of the market that has been undersupplied in the Ilkley area for many years," he said.

The houses are expected to range from about £197,500 to around £310,000 and will be released for sale in August.
