Bradford Council has agreed to look at providing more information at an Ilkley Town Hall letterbox following concerns about consultation responses not reaching council officers in time.
Ward councillor Anne Hawkesworth (Ind, Ilkley) says last-minute responses to the Core Strategy consultation, posted through the Town Hall letterbox, were not counted as they did not reach central council offices in time.
Most council services have now been moved from the town hall.
She said: “We have a letterbox on the front of the building clearly signed Bradford Council. Over years residents have considered that by using this facility they have contacted the council at the point of time they post the envelope.”
Bradford Council said it would look into putting a label on the letterbox, informing residents how to get documents to council officers quickly.
