Bolton Abbey’s annual Easter Egg Hunt is set to be bigger and better than ever.

The Easter Bunny is busy preparing the trail, which starts outside the Cavendish Pavilion and follows the riverside footpath through Strid Wood.

And new for this year are some extra-large eggs, standing at one metre high, which have been hidden among the trees for children and families to find and count.

The challenge is to crack the Easter Bunny’s code and find the golden egg.

Visitor manager Moira Smith said: “The Easter Egg Hunt is a great day out for all the family and the route is pushchair and wheelchair-friendly, making it accessible for all.”

Once completing the trail, children can meet the Easter Bunny who will be in her rabbit hutch outside the Pavilion and will be giving away free chocolate eggs.

The trail will be open from Good Friday to Easter Monday, between 10am and 4pm.
