Three fitness instructors are to launch new exercise classes, boot camps and training sessions with a family-friendly twist.

Based at Ilkley Rugby Club, Get Up and Go aims to support and encourage adults and children towards a healthier lifestyle by offering a combination of outdoor and indoor exercise.

Tanya Lindop, Chantelle Scargill and Sarah Mayrick are no strangers to fitting in exercise to a busy work-life balance. With ten children between them, all three women are qualified trainers, and specialise in a range of classes such as body pump, aerobics, metafit and spinning.

As well as getting out and about running marathons and half marathons, the trio have participating in local events like Tough Mudder, Yorkshire Warrior and the Ilkley Triathlon.

They plan to take full advantage of their scenic location in Ilkley, offering outdoor boot camps, exercising under Middleton Woods, whatever the weather.

Parents can bring their children along to experience their own children’s boot camp each Saturday, and Tuesdays and Thursdays during school holidays.

Mrs Lindop, a mum of five from Norwood, said: "The reason we are setting up Get Up and Go is accessibility to exercise whatever your fitness level. It is important that good-quality exercise sessions are accessible to everyone without being tied down to a membership fee, or feeling like your routine had to stop at weekends or holidays.

“Our strength is incorporating outdoor and indoor exercise into your life which will motivate and encourage you to be more active. Getting fitter and stronger will boost your drive to a healthier lifestyle.”

Miss Scargill, from Burley Woodhead, is also a fully-qualified diving instructor and Mrs Mayrick played hockey for Yorkshire as a junior and gained her personal training and gym qualifications in Australia.

Former England, Leeds, Racing Metro and Saracens full-back Dan Scarbrough will be at the launch, helping out.

Bingley-born Dan, who started his rugby career at Bradford Salem and Bradford Grammar, said: “The type of training Get Up and Go offer will produce results in a fun environment.”

People are invited to join the Get Up and Go launch and get a free taster session on Saturday, April 26, at Ilkley Rugby Football Club 8.45-9.45am (registration starts from 8.15 am).

Classes run on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from April 26. For more information, e-mail guag@outlook.com or call 07946 537614.
