More than 100 people went through the gates at Guiseley football club to find out more about its stadium improvement plans.
The scheme, to create three new stands, additional turnstiles and toilets and catering facilities, has sparked controversy in the town, but the club says it is trying to reassure local people. It held an open day on Sunday to allow the public to look at drawings for the improvements to facilities at the ground and to be able to put questions to club officials.
The proposals have drawn strong opposition from Guiseley Cricket Club, who argued there were numerous reasons why the project should not go ahead.
But this week both clubs said they were in discussions in a bid to reach a compromise.
Guiseley AFC Chairman Phil Rogerson said: “It was a really positive afternoon for the club and we took a lot away from it in terms of concerns a small number of people may have.
“However, we hope they felt reassured by our plans and are clear now that we simply want to improve our facilities to an appropriate level - allowing us to better serve our fanbase and the wider community.”
