The 1st Burley Brownies are celebrating World Thinking Day on Saturday by putting a light in their window and they are encouraging others to join them in the old Guiding tradition.
Sharon Hattersley, leader of the 1st Burley Brownies, said the tradition was being revived as part of the celebrations for the Brownie 100th birthday this year.
She said: “We would like to ask girls and women throughout the Ilkley area who were Rainbows, Brownies or Guides to join us and show that they were a member by putting a light in their window on February 22.
“We are currently working on our Big Brownie Birthday Challenge badge and are completing clauses related to the different years of Brownies. This is one of those clauses.
“Other things we are doing include taking a train ride somewhere new, running a meeting for the Rainbows, having a meeting in the dark and trying out fake wounds.”
