A teenage fundraiser from Horsforth is organising her second fashion show in aid of sick children.

Fourteen-year-old Beth Hare who started fundraising at the age of ten, has so far raised a total of £45,000 – more than half of which went to Martin House Hospice.

She is also hoping to raise a minimum of £300,000 to build Smile Cottage, a place where families can go and spend quality time and build happy memories when they are faced with the news that their child has a very short life expectancy.

Now she is planning the second Style for Smiles annual fashion show, which will be held on Friday, February 28, at Headingley Experience, Headingley Carnegie Stadium. The event is being staged in conjunction with the organisers of the prestigious Leeds Fashion Show.

Capital FM Radio Breakfast Show Presenter, JoJo, is to host the evening, which is being supported by a wide range of designers and fashion houses Bethany thanked everyone for their support and said: “Last year’s event raised over £3,000 and I have my fingers crossed that this year we can raise even more.”

The evening will begin at 7pm with a shopping experience and entertainment from band The Ivy’s, with the catwalk show starting at 8pm. It will culminate with an auction of outfits donated by the designers taking part in the show – giving the audience an opportunity to bid for a rare or one-off design.

Bethany, of Horsforth, was treated to the photo shoot, in the run up to the fundraiser, by make-up artist Pamela Clare and Leeds Fashion Show’s Rhonda Richards, who will be helping with the event.
