The Donkey Sanctuary is seeking new weekend volunteers for its base at Eccup.

The charity, which each week offers free riding therapy to about 190 children with special needs, is seeking assistance with a range of tasks on Saturdays and Sundays.

It would like to hear from enthusiastic individuals willing to help with everything from mucking out and grooming to showing visitors around and running the monthly Saturday Club.

Eccup centre manager Cathryn Williams said: “Sadly, some of our weekend volunteers have had to leave due to other commitments.

“So we are hoping we can find some equally enthusiastic and cheerful helpers to carry on their good work.

“Our volunteers are very important to us because it is their energy which ensures that visitors enjoy being here and without the volunteers the centre just wouldn’t be the same.”

Full training will be provided for the work.
