Victims of burglaries in Wharfedale and Aireborough are being asked to contact police to see if any of their goods have been found.

The appeal comes after police officers in Bradford uncovered a massive haul of stolen property, worth about £50,000, at an address in Low Moor, Bradford.

One man was arrested and has since been released on bail, pending further enquiries, in connection with the find.

Some of the items, which include bicycles, power tools, ladders, golf equipment and generators, have already been returned to owners in the Bradford district.

But West Yorkshire Police thinks some of the items were taken from further afield, and would like to hear from anyone who thinks their property might be among them.

PC Lisa Common, of the Tong and Wyke Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “We believe some of these items may have been taken in burglaries committed out of the area, possibly even outside of West Yorkshire.

“I would ask anyone who has been the victim of a burglary in the last 12 months in the Leeds or North Yorkshire area, to contact us with as much information they have about items they have had stolen, as well as any crime numbers they have been given.

“The more information you can provide, the better the chance we will be able to identify it.”

Other goods among those recovered incuded an angle grinder, hedge trimmmer, seven strimmers, an air conditioning unit and a cement mixer.
