Homes and workplaces will make a fresh start to the new year with artwork by schoolchildren.

Two pupils from Westville House School in Ilkley won an art competition run by estate agent Dacre, Son and Hartley, and their pictures will be displayed in the company’s 2014 corporate calendar.

Lydia Robson and Landon Crother were presented with art hampers and Dacres also made a contribution to the school’s art department after their paintings were selected from hundreds of entries to become two of the calendar’s 12 pictures that are themed around buildings throughout the seasons.

Patrick McCutcheon, of Dacre Son and Hartley, said: “Every year we produce a corporate calendar that’s always extremely well-received by our residential and commercial clients across our 20 offices, so we continually have to make sure its fresh and interesting.

“Working with local school pupils enables us to do this and further strengthens our relationships with the local communities in the areas in which we operate.

“This year we were inundated with entries, so the competition was fierce, but we’re absolutely delighted with the pictures that the 12 winners produced.”
