People have been urged to have their say about the future of health services in the Bradford district.

The three clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) in the Bradford district – NHS Airedale, Wharfedale and Craven, NHS Bradford City CCG and NHS Bradford Districts CCG – have urged people to take part in a national debate about how health services can be best delivered now and in the years ahead.

The ‘A Call to Action’ debate aims to ensure that the NHS is ready to face the challenges of tightening budgets, an ageing population and an increase in demand for services.

The CCGs want people to take part in a survey to hear their experiences of local NHS services and any ideas they have on how services might be improved in the future.

This will help influence how local commissioning decisions are made.

There are four key areas:

  • Improving quality of care that people receive
  • Meeting everyone’s needs
  • Maintaining financial sustainability
  • Building excellence now and for the future.

Representatives of the CCGs attended an event organised by Bradford Council on Monday at City Hall, Bradford, to promote the survey and talk to people about the NHS.

A second meeting was taking place today, Thursday, December 12, from 4pm to 6pm, KIVCA, Alice Street, Keighley.
