Ilkley’s MP was joined by the economic secretary to the Treasury for a tour of innovation and enterprise across his constituency.

Kris Hopkins was accompanied by Nicky Morgan MP to see what is being done locally to encourage more people into the world of business.

During the visit, they attended a meeting of the successful Ilkley Business Network at Craiglands Hotel, where both Mr Hopkins and Mrs Morgan gave a short speech.

Speaking after the visit, Mr Hopkins said: “Small businesses are the lifeblood of our economy, and creating successful new start-ups will give us the best prospect of more jobs and a more prosperous future.

“It is the job of Government to assist entrepreneurs in growing the private sector and spreading wealth and opportunity. We are making significant progress in this task and our commitment to do more is unbending.”

The MPs also met with staff from Keighley-based Airedale Enterprise Services.
