Aireborough and Wharfedale families urged to give old toys for charity appeal

Children and parents are being urged to donate ‘pre-loved’ toys to help raise money for needy children.
An appeal has gone out to families across Ilkley, Aireborough and Otley to help raise £1million for Barnado’s in the run-up to Christmas.
This year’s Argos Toy Exchange is encouraging people to donate their pre-loved toys at Argos and Barnardo’s stores to help support some of the region’s most disadvantaged children.
Those donating will receive a £5 voucher towards the cost of new toys.
Denise Van Outen, who is helping to launch this year’s campaign, said: “The Argos Toy Exchange is a fantastic initiative. Being a mum myself I know how important it is that children have toys, not only to enjoy but also to help them learn and develop. As we start to think about Christmas it’s the perfect time to help those in need.”
Toys can be taken into Argos or Barnardo’s by November 26. They will then be passed on to Barnardo’s shops to raise funds for the charity. For more information, visit the website argos.co.uk/toyexchange.
