Half-term courses for Guiseley teenagers
9:00am Saturday 19th October 2013 in News
First aid, sports leadership and dance leadership courses are being run in Guiseley during October half-term.
The courses for teenagers are being staged by Aireborough Extended Services in partnership with Guiseley AFC.
Activities co-ordinator Katherine Robertshaw said the Level 1 Award in Dance Leadership was being brought back after its success last year.
The Level 1 in Sports Leadership is being run for the first time, and the Basic First Aid Award is being held due to a number of requests.
Katherine said the courses aimed to support teenagers with leadership skills and to help them develop as volunteers. They are open to young people aged between 13 and 18.
The courses, which take place at Guiseley School, are subsidised with funding from Guiseley AFC Community team.
The sports leadership course takes place from 10am to 3pm daily from Wednesday, October 30 to Friday, November 1, and costs £21.
The Basic First Aid Award takes place from 9.30am to 12.30pm on Tuesday, October 29 and costs £12.50.
Dance leadership skills will be taught between 10am and 3pm from Tuesday, October 29 to Friday, November 1. The course costs £28.
A minimum number of ten people must be booked onto the courses for them to take place.
