Wharfedale runners wanted to help raise Red Cross cash
8:00am Wednesday 16th October 2013 in News
Runners from Wharfedale are being asked to support the British Red Cross.
The charity still has places available for some of the biggest city runs of 2014, including the marathons in Paris and London.
Runners have to pledge to raise sponsorship money for the Red Cross, with fundraising targets ranging from £300 for the Great North Run to £650, for Paris, and £2,000 for London.
Senior community fundraiser for the Red Cross in Yorkshire, Max Newton, said: “All money raised will help people affected by crises and disasters both right here in Yorkshire and across the world.
“From house fires, floods and severe winter weather to earthquakes and tsunamis, the Red Cross will be there to help people recover from major events that can destroy lives and whole communities.”
Everyone taking part in a race will receive a Red Cross running vest or T-shirt and fundraising and training support.
