Author to give highest inn talk at Ilkley's Bettys cafe
4:08pm Thursday 10th October 2013 in News
Staff at Bettys cafe in Ilkley could be putting up the ‘house full’ notices tonight for the second time this week as the “tall tales” about Britain’s highest inn, by Ilkley author Neil Hanson, is close to another sell out.
Neil’s first talk about his new book The Inn At The Top sold out so quickly that a second date was added, but Bettys are down to the last few tickets for that as well.
Robert Wagner, manager at Bettys Ilkley, said: “We’re very much looking forward to welcoming Neil to Bettys.
There is terrific interest in his stories based on his book.
To meet the demand for tickets, we’ve put on a second performance and it looks like this will sell out too.”
Neil will be at Bettys tonight, at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £29.95, including a two-course Bettys supper, tea and coffee, from Bettys on (01943) 608029.
Readers who miss out tonight will still have one further chance to see Neil talking about the inn in a November event at Ilkley’s new brew-pub, The Flying Duck.
The Inn At The top is published by Michael O’Mara Books, at £8.99
