Join Aireborough women to help causes
11:00am Friday 4th October 2013 in News
Members of Soroptimist International of Aireborough are holding an open meeting in Guiseley this month.
Anyone is welcome to attend the meeting to hear about the international organisation and the work and fundraising carried out by the local group.
Ongoing projects include educating a girl in Cape Verde and setting up and helping to run a monthly Forget Me Not Cafe in Yeadon for people with dementia and their carers. The group also helps to keep Guiseley cemetery tidy, as well as collecting toiletries and dried food for Leeds Women’s Refuge.
Every year it holds a garden wander, community tea and a free Christmas entertainment evening.
The open meeting will take place at 7.30pm on Wednesday, October 16, at Guiseley Methodist Church, and prospective new members are welcome. Further details can be obtained from Chris Grandison on (01943) 864612.
