Leading Ilkley based e-learning provider Virtual College celebrated its milestone of achieving over a million learners with a family barbecue at Ilkley Rugby Club.
More than 100 people attended the event, held on Sunday, August 18, as a ‘thank you’ to all the staff for their contribution to the company’s overall ongoing growth.
Entertainment for the day included a rounder’s tournament, a bouncy castle for the children, sumo wrestling, table top games and ‘Rod in the Stocks’.
Virtual College’s chief executive, Rod Knox, put himself in the firing line of wet sponges all for a good cause. The day was a huge success in terms of team-building and in raising money for chosen charity, Martin House Children’s Hospice.
Mr Knox said: “Providing we continue to invest in quality staff, new technology and offer great customer service, I see no reason why we should not hit the two million learner mark in the next couple of years.”
Virtual College provide online learning and training delivery solutions to most sectors in the UK.
Now with over 120 employees and two offices based in Ilkley, it was recently shortlisted in the top six of the EdTech Europe 20, a list of the 20 fastest growing and most innovative EdTech companies in Europe.
