Staff and pupils at Westville House School in Ilkley are celebrating exceptional entrance school exam results this year, with all their Year 6 pupils obtaining places at their first choice of senior school.
There was a 100 per cent pass rate for those children who sat the Ermysted’s Grammar and Skipton Girls’ High School exams.
A quarter of the Year 6 children live in the Skipton area and travel to school from Skipton each morning on the Westville House minibus.
Five pupils were awarded scholarships to their chosen school. Of those, two children were awarded the top academic scholarships at Sedbergh and Giggleswick Schools.
Other scholarships included sport, music and art, which highlights the breadth of talent and education of these children.
Other schools which have offered places to the children are Bradford Grammar, The Grammar School at Leeds (GSAL), Woodhouse Grove, Ashville College, St Olave’s and Queen Margaret’s in York.
Newly appointed Headteacher, Rosey James, said: “I am delighted with the results that all of our children have achieved.
The choice of the right secondary school for each pupil is a critical decision for all parents.
We work closely with our parents to ensure that the best choice is made, both for their child, and for their family.”
Westville’s next Open Morning is Saturday, April 20, from 10am to noon.
