Ilkley area crime update

Jewellery was stolen in three burglaries at homes in Ilkley last month, and a safe and cash were stolen from a sports club.

Thirty crimes were recorded in Ilkley last month, say police, including three house burglaries, and four break-ins at other properties.

Burglars stole jewellery from houses on Ashlands Road, Wells Road and Queens Drive. Money and a safe were stolen in a break-in a Ben Rhydding sports club, police told an Ilkley Parish Council meeting this week. Booths supermarket and premises on Wells Road were also broken into.

There were also four assaults, six thefts from motor vehicles, and three reports of criminal damage. Police are reminding residents to make sure their car doors are locked.
