An invitation to Ilkley Passiotide sing-along

A ‘Come and Sing’ concert of music for Passiontide takes place at St Margaret’s Church, Queens Road, Ilkley, at 7pm on Saturday, March 23.

Regular members of Ilkley and Otley Choral Societies will be joined by enthusiastic singers who have signed up to take part in this concert of music by Stainer and Handel.

The audience will be invited to join in the hymns from Stainer’s Passiontide cantata, Crucifixion and to listen to a seasonal rendering of Messiah Part II, which is that section which concentrates on the Crucifixion and the Glory of the resurrection.

The soloists for the evening are Lyndsey Durant, Peter Stobart and Dominic Rose. Alan Horsey is the organist and Barry Jordan will conduct.

Tickets are available, at £10, from the Grove Bookshop in Ilkley, from choir members and by phoning (01943) 816774.
