The Archbishop of York, the Rt Hon Dr John Sentamu, preached at Bolton Abbey’s Priory Church on Sunday as the priory celebrated the 150th anniversary of becoming a parish in its own right.
He was joined by his wife, Margaret, and his chaplain, the Rev Dr Daphne Green. The Duke and Devonshire and a congregation of more than 200 people attended the service to see the Archbishop and hear him speak during the service.
After the service he spoke to parishioners as they left the church.
