A schoolgirl who is raising money for sick children has formed a band to help charities.
Thirteen-year-old Bethany Hare, of Horsforth, has joined forces with teenagers Billy Bryant and Bradley Johnson to form B-Cubed, which is offering to perform free to help good causes.
Footage of the group was put on YouTube last week and had received hundreds of viewings within hours.
One of the group’s first performances will be at a fund-raising fashion show organised by Bethany this month.
The schoolgirl, who has been fundraising since the age of ten, has raised more than £34,000 for children with life threatening and chronic illnesses.
Bethany, who goes to Horsforth school, has been a student at Scala performing arts since the age of six. She has appeared in Emmerdale, a television commercial and various stage performances.
Billy, 16, of Hawksworth, is at Bradford Grammar School. He joined Stage 84 in Bradford when he was 13 and has appeared in a number of stage performances. Bradley, 15, of Low Moor, Bradford, goes to Dixon’s City academy and has been a student at Stage 84 in since he was five. He has had various acting roles in television including the BBC drama Five Days. He recently starred as Peter Pan at Bradford’s Alhambra theatre.
Bradley said: “It feels good to be able to help others whilst doing something we all enjoy.”
As well as performing at the Bethany’s Smile fashion show Styles for Smiles, the group will appear at the Bromley Foundation James Bond-themed charity ball at the Radisson hotel in Manchester in May and will be performing for the Sue Ryder (Wheatfields) Hospice in July.
The fashion show takes place at 7pm on Thursday, February 28, at Headingley Carnegie Stadium. Tickets cost £10 and are available from the following outlets: Cutting Room Creative, 80 Albion Street, Leeds 1; Accent Clothing, 11-20 Queens Arcade, Leeds 1; The Gift Gallery (Yankee Candle Shop), 19A Town Street, Horsforth.
