Public health figures which show a ten per cent rise in spending in Horsforth, Aireborough and Pudsey have been welcomed as “fantastic news” by the area’s MP.

Stuart Andrew says Government figures show a sharp increase in spending on public health in the Pudsey constituency. According to the figures, spending on public health in 2013 and 2014 will increase by ten per cent – the joint highest rise seen by any area in the country. This will be followed by another increase of ten per cent in the years 2014 and 2015.

Mr Andrew said: ‘These public health figures are absolutely fantastic news for Pudsey. A rise of ten per cent in public health spending will have a real impact on local health services and will be felt throughout the local community.

“The increase in spending will mean more money is available to help residents of Pudsey, Horsforth and Aireborough stay healthy and get the best possible treatment when they need it.’
