A quiz has raised £400 for Otley town mayor's appeal.
The fundraising event was held at Our Lady and All Saints Church's new Parish Rooms at Clitheroe House, in Manor Square, last weekend when former mayor Ray Smith was the quizmaster.
Current mayor Councillor Mary Vickers (Lib Dem, Prince Henry) joined forces with MP Greg Mulholland (Lib Dem, Leeds North West) to form a team that took second place. All proceeds will go to Coun Vickers' chosen charities for her mayoral year – the breast cancer unit at Leeds General Infirmary, St James' University Hospital's cleft palate unit, and the Sylvia Wright Trust.
Mr Mulholland said: “I’m pleased to have got along to the mayor of Otley’s charity quiz at the new Our Lady and All Saints Parish Centre. It was great to see so many people there supporting the mayor’s appeal. I look forward to supporting Mary with future events.”
