With the first snowfall of 2013 last weekend, and sub-zero temperatures lingering, Councillor Colin Campbell is urging people to lend a hand where they can.

He said: “I would encourage people to contact one of the many local services who are on hand if they are in need of assistance.”

Groups that can help include the Warm Homes Service, which can fix heating systems in vulnerable homes and can be contacted on (0113) 391 8336, and the Citizens Advice Bureau on 0844 4774788 The Green Doctor provides energy- efficiency services including draught-proofing and can be contacted on (0113) 238 0601.
