Ilkley’s Moorfield School has become the first in the Wharfe valley to be awarded the green flag for its eco-friendly efforts for the third time.

This accolade for the school, in Ben Rhydding Road, highlights its commitment to being an eco-friendly place.

The school said that the eco theme is embedded across its curriculum and in their outstanding ongoing projects.

The inspector toured the premises and highlighted the newly-improved grounds, kitchen garden, habitat hotspots, recycling centre and a wonderful model of an eco house.

Eco-Schools are run internationally by the Foundation for Environmental Education.

As an Eco-School, Moorfield is aiming to educate their pupils with information that will help them make sustainable decisions in the future.
