Panel to discuss Ilkley's Owler House demolition

A plan to demolish Owler House and replace it with four detached homes will be discussed next week.

The proposal to demolish the Ilkley property, in Owler Park Road, formerly known as Four Winds, and build new houses will be put to the Area Planning Panel on Wednesday.

Owler House, a large detached property, is bounded to the north and west by green belt. Owler Park Road is unadopted and there are around 60 properties. Ilkley Parish Council has recommended plans be deferred on the grounds of over-development, environmental and potential overloading of an access route.

Ilkley Civic Society has objected for a number of reasons, including over-development and the visual impact on the green belt. It says the properties are planned too close together. The meeting will be at Keighley Town Hall at 10am.
