Second Burley-in-Wharfedale Co-op plan rejected

A second plan to extend Burley-in-Wharfedale Library and house a Co-op convenience store on the ground floor has been rejected by Bradford Council.

Bradford Council officers rejected the planning application yesterday, ruling the proposed new store on Grange Road would have “inadequate facilities” for off-street parking, and servicing and delivery vehicle facilities were unsatisfactory.

They said: “The proposal would be detrimental to traffic management and road safety and improvements considered necessary to overcome the adverse impact of the development on highway safety have not been secured.” They said loading and unloading would obstruct traffic.
