Gould piano trio to return to Ilkley's Kings Hall

The Gould Piano Trio will make a welcome return to The Kings Hall and Winter Gardens next week.

The ensemble, which has an enviable reputation for musical integrity and imagination, celebrated their 20th anniversary in 2012.

The programme includes works by Hummel – who was a piano virtuoso and a contemporary of Beethoven – and Faure, whose trio is a late work with exquisite melodies and characteristically delicate piano writing.

Conceived on a large scale in memory of his mentor and friend Nikolai Rubinstein, Tchaikovsky’s trio has a serious elegiac first movement with a large second movement – a set of 11 variations.

To book tickets, which start at £10, contact (01943) 609045 between 10am and 7pm, and up to 1pm on concert day. Alternatively, visit Ilkley Library or Tourist Information Centre.

The event will be held on Wednesday, January 9, at 8pm.
