An appearance by the Number Ninja will help kick-start Otley Courthouse’s spring season.

‘Stand-up mathematician’ Matt Parker, fresh from BBC Radio 4’s Infinite Monkey Cage with Robin Ince and Brian Cox, will appear at the venue on Saturday, January 19.

The show is part of Parker’s first national tour, and will feature the same number ninja that has starred in performances at Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the Melbourne Comedy Festival.

Courthouse centre manager Chloe Perry said audiences should expect a “hilarious tour through the world of numbers”, that will include debunking number myths and examining the mysterious patterns behind the locations of ancient monuments.

Chloe is urging anyone interested in attending to book a place early.

She added: “Last season we had an unprecedented number of sell-out events, and the strength and variety of the forthcoming spring season suggests this will happen again. So don’t find yourself on a waiting list.”

The spring season continues on Saturday, January 26, with Sherlock Holmes – a Murder Mystery, where people of all ages are invited to form groups and crack codes to unmask a killer and be crowned super sleuth.

More details about these and other forthcoming events at the Courthouse can be found at otleycourthouse.org.uk, or call at the venue on Courthouse Street.
