A report saying Bradford Council is spending “well and wisely” has gone before a meeting of the Council’s executive committee.

The Commissioning Framework 2013-16 sets out the next steps for the Council and its partners to deliver the priorities for the district through different ways – including by working more effectively with the voluntary and community sector.

Bradford Council leader Councillor David Green said: “Unsust-ainable cuts are being imposed on local authorities and it is more important than ever that we can show value for money when funding the Council’s priorities, namely regenerating our city centre; raising educational achieve-ment and developing people’s skills for the workplace.

“This means thinking creatively and intelligently about meeting the needs of the district and looking outside the council to take advantage of joint commissioning and collaborative opport-unities where possible.”

Councillors will be asked to approve the framework at the meeting.
